Metrics calculation in DL-Instant
In DL-Instant you can calculate glare metrics.
The calculation has been designed to be particularly fast. The progressive rendering technique allows to evaluate sensors at a very early stage. For some sensors the value is very quickly known very precision and a second is quite enough to get the results you need.
In DL-Instant the glare metrics that are calculated are:
DGP - Daylight Glare Probability
DGI - Daylight Glare Index
UGR - Unified Glare Rating
DGR - Discomfort Glare Rating
VCP - Visual Comfort Probability
CGI - CIE Glare Index
UGP - Unified Glare Rating
LVeil - Veiling Luminance
As for sensors, glare metrics are constantly recalculated as the images are refined. When the values of these metrics become stable, these values can be used with confidence.
It is worth noting that some metrics become stable quickly even if the image does not seem to be defined with great precision. This is, in particular the case with the DGP (Daylight Glare Probability). As soon as the image starts to refine, a few seconds later, the DGP is already stable. The method used for its calculation in DL-Instant takes full advantage of the specificity and allows to calculate the DGP quickly.
